Loyd Case is back to give us a heads up on what to expect in the world of PC hardware in 2010. Expect a slew of 32nm die shrinked processors from Intel both in desktop and laptop machines. For enthusiasts the watch word is Gulftown, Intel’s 6 core hyperthreaded for up to 12 threads in parallel processor. Not be left behind AMD is planning on releasing 32nm parts sometime mid-2010 as well push their new Fusion CPU where the GPU will be located on the CPU are located on a single package. Intel’s graphics processor effort Larrabee has been shelved for consumer release limiting it’s release only for developmental purposes. 2010 will be the make or break year for General Purpose GPU functionality. With the release of OpenCL and DirectCompute in DirectX 11 developers will now have two standardized frameworks for developing apps for executing on a GPU.

Before starting with your personal computer make sure that you have a good knowledge base of computer hardware. If you have educated yourself on this you will know what to look for in a lesser known brand of components.

The most simple types of desktop hardware are you monitor/screen, keyboard and mouse. The most things in a computer is the hardware which makes the computer work how it is suppose to. You will also need various software for your computer. Below are some basic computer hardware components and their specifications:

Central Processing Unit (CPU): This part has a direct relation to the motherboard, which is know as the computer’s body and brain. The memory of the RAM is important to run in order for the CPU to perform it basic functions with the heat sink and the fan.

A computer needs a supply of electricity so it works all the time. Components of this include the power cord and internal parts.

The video controller is attached to the motherboard and relates to the graphic card operations.

A removable media device is your computers storage. The Floppy disk which is considered as an outdated storage device is the most common removable media devices – which are suitable for data and music – in a personal computer. Next to the Floppy disk is the Zip drive which has a higher capacity. For CDs to read data you need a CD-ROM Drive, to read or write data the CD Writer. A higher memory type of CD is the DVD. For express reading and writing the DVD-ROM Drive; the DVD Writer; the DVD-RAM Drive. For high-density data storage and high-definition videos the Blu-ray Disc. The BD-ROM Drive and the BD Writer and the flash device used for memory data storage and has big capacity is the USB flash drive.

HQ: www.youtube.com An adventure of epic proportions as a young man sets out on a journey to gather computer parts required to end Alienware’s oppressive monopoly on the galactic trade market with the sale of computer hardware. This will allow other computer hardware companies to compete and restore balance to the galaxy. This was a final project for our computer engineering technology class that our class ran out of time to complete. The assignment was to present a creative way to teach educational informational (specifically computer hardware) to better interest students in learning. This was spawned as a result of not being able to add the educational content in time. The entire video was done improv one time after filming all the scenes and cutting them together. The main two voice actors had not seen the video all the way through yet, so it got interesting… Sorry about the sound quality, the mic we used was better suited to VOIP one-person use rather than multi-person recording. Believe it or not, this is cleaned up a lot and if we get enough requests, I may attempt to clean it up more. Thanks for viewing and enjoy. Special Thanks To: George Lucas (For creating Star Wars) Star Wars Galaxies (For providing the filming location and trial accounts that we used for the main characters, my main supplied the items and such) Fraps (Providing the method we used to film) Oafy Le Trice (My amazing friend who helped out at the last second) Mr. Sheldahl (Our awesome teacher …

Experimenting with switching the bedroom and living room stuff around. New computer setup in a U-shape pivot with diffused blue lighting, projector, and 9 total screens. I like it; I think I’ll keep it. At one point I referred to the cameras’ “Power cables” when I clearly meant “Data cables”. I know, so don’t bother pointing that out.

Just because you aren’t an expert on computers, it doesn’t mean you can’t choose correctly after learning the basics and some tips. Read on to find out how to buy this desktop wonder.

You can physically take apart and fix any problems you might have with the hardware on your computer. However, if you have problems with the operating system or any computer programs that are installed, you can only attempt to fix the problem through prompts you receive on your computer screen. In contains the processor which is responsible for data processing; the hard disk drive that serves as the storage space for pictures and files; the RAM (Random Access Memory), that takes care of various tasks and maintains the smooth shape of the processes, the sound and graphics cards that let you possess clear photos in addition to sounds you’ll like; the motherboard, where all the parts are spread out and certainly the modem, for internet connection.

If you are in the market for computer hardware, it is necessary to first determine which components you require. Do this if you’re trying to fix a part of a computer, as opposed to buying a new one. Doing this gives you the chance to add to your savings. After all, everything else works like it should

Shopping will not be a problem when you know what computer hardware you are going to buy. When working within a tight budget, it would be hard to to purchase the entire thing. You need to look at your budget. What is the most you are ready to pay for this particular component? However, some people canvass first and look at the specifications. There are many different sizes in hardware for many different things. When purchasing a computer you should see what you need the computer for so you don’t buy one you don’t need. An individual with a high amount of computer files obviously needs more disk room in their computer in order to store the files. A more advanced or greater quality graphic card is a necessity for a photographer. Depending on the requirements is what you can you use the computer for.

If you don’t know what you are looking for, shopping for computer components can be intimidating. It will give you an edge when it comes to haggling for a good price and also shopping for the hardware with the perfect specifications and it pays to know a lot about computers. Shopping for computer parts doesn’t stop with just knowing the brand name of whatever hardware that interests you. If you don’t know the performance level, the capacity or whether the part you want is compatible with the rest of your hardware, you could find yourself on a merry-go-round.

Computers, like many other electronics, have various cables and ports that need to be connected for it to operate. When dealing with computers, you must know what kinds of ports and cables you are using in order to find one that is compatible. The type of parts found in the CPU or Central Processing Unit will also determine the type of parts for the mouse and keyboard, which could either be a round socket or a USB port as connecting cables.

Additionally, you must determine the capacity of each of the computer hardware. Some will work, some won’t. In the model, this can be seen. You can research in the internet to know which is top of the line. Don’t forget that though computer parts are easily upgraded, the newest and best three months ago may not necessarily be the fastest today. When you are on the computer or something you should always update is when you can. Shops can provide information as new products become available. You won’t necessarily need to buy new parts.

You can use the internet or computer to educate yourself on this. You can find information on computer parts and prices here. You can learn a lot from those places, but people who’ve done it are the best source of information. Another route to get information is to question people who work with computers or own and possibly built their computer. These employees are experts and can help you with whatever you need.
