If you are into sports then DirecTV has a few things that you might be interested in, because they are the sports leader in TV programming today. One of the options that they have for the sports fans in their family of TV viewers is DVR Powered by TiVo and it gives you some very unique functions that let you get so much more out of your sports programming from DirecTV. The first trick that it does is instant slow motion replays at the touch of a button and if you are a true sports fanatic then you know just how important this function is.

For far too many years sports fans were at the mercy of the broadcasters for this function and sometimes there were things that they didn’t see that the viewers did in all the fast moving action. Now with the power of TiVo in your own hand you can replay anything that you want to, any time that you like, as many times as you want to.

If you are into TV commercials, then you can record all of them as they come on during your games, but if you are like most people you can use the TiVo function to instantly zip right past them in seconds and get right back to the game. Many sports fanatics like to do their own track and field events right in their home during games and its called the bathroom and refrigerator dash, but if you don’t wish to participate in this event you can use TiVo to stop the game to do your business and then restart it right where it left off when you return.

DirecTV is the all time leader in sports programming in the universe and TiVo is one of the reasons, because not all TV programming service providers make it available to their customers. Another of the reasons that they dominate in sports programming is the twenty-five premium sports channels that they have in their Total Choice programming packages. Don’t be fooled by programmers that offer a multitude of sports channels, but they aren’t premium sports channels.

Non premium sports channels are a lot less expensive for the service provider to procure on the open market and if you watch what’s on them you will quickly realize why this is so. Geriatric sumo wrestling, competition cow chip tossing and under water table tennis are just a few of the fascinating and exciting sports events that you might find to watch on some of these non premium sports channels.

DirecTV also stocks two exclusive sports channels in its arsenal that you can’t get from any other TV programming service provider. They are NFL Sunday Ticket and NCAA Mega March Madness and they are both full of games and special events such as all the charity events that they put on during the season.

They also feature lots and lots of intriguing and provocative debate and commentary as well as exclusive one on one interviews with all the top sports figures in both the college and professional level. If sports are important to you, then you really should contact DirecTV online to see what they have for you, before you make a regrettable commitment with another TV programming service provider.

If you have not heard of TiVo and DVR yet take a close look at what they offer. TiVo is an incredible system that gives you the ability to rewind and even pause television while it is airing. In addition to TiVo’s ability to pause and rewind television that is live, you will be able to fast forward TV after you have paused it for a certain amount of time. In other words, let’s say that you are watching the football game and you have to get up to get a snack or use the restroom, with TiVo you can pause it and resume when you return. On top of pausing the game, when you get back you will be able to actually fast forward through any commercials all the way up into the point where TV is being aired. Now, instead of waiting until the next commercial break to get a snack or use the restroom, you can actually happily go in the middle of the game knowing that you will not have to sit through the next commercial break.

The DVR system (also known as the Digital Video Recorder) replaces the VCR (or, of course, the Video Cassette Recorder) and revolutionized television recording as we know it. The VCR had so many problems attached to it, as I am sure you can remember (or still deal with). How about recording on fast or slow speed? How do you ever know which it is supposed to be, and even if you are doing it right? Half the time you end up recording only the first half of the show if you are on the wrong speed! What about the VCR’s lousy recording timer? When you first got your VCR it seemed you would never have to rush home from work in fear of missing your favorite program again! But you were wrong weren’t you? Instead of the VCR being a reliable solution, it became an easier way to miss your favorite program since you thought it was going to record your show when the timer decides not to work properly. Now it is true that not everyone has experienced those specific problems but we all know of the difficulty of storing those cumbersome Video Cassettes! People will load up bookshelves with old video cassettes, making for a rather unattractive conversation piece. Not only is there the problem of storing video cassettes, there is also the general problems of frustrations that come with recording with the VCR. In order to tape a show on the VCR you have to set a rather primitive timer and be sure that you set it at the correct recording speed. Many have found time and time again that the timer is faulty and that it is difficult to always record at the proper speed. Now these problems are over with TiVo and the DVR, or Digital Video Recorder (the VCR of the new millennium) offered by DirecTV.

Now if you think it doesn’t get any better than that, just wait until you hear about HD TV and all of the Sports and Movie channels offered with DirecTV packages. It doesn’t get any better than DirecTV.

DirecTV is one of the leading providers of satellite television available on the world wide market today. DirecTV is known for many things such as great customer service and support, awesome affordability and value, large variety of channel packages, movie channels, the relatively new digital High Definition television format, parental controls, as well as an assortment of other great features. As far as customer service and support are concerned, to give you a general idea, DirecTV has been rated number one in general customer satisfaction (in the field of a satellite television provider) for seven years straight. This rating has been given to DirecTV seven separate times by an organization called the American Customer Satisfaction Index. HBO, Cinemax, and ShoTime, are some of the popular movie channels offered from DirecTV. DirecTV also offers an additional and very popular package of channels known as the Sports Pack.

The Sports Pack shows over fourteen different sports games in a week, and it has special after game coverage channels that gives you all the inside access you could ever want. The Sports Pack also has all of the High Definition TV, or HD TV, sports channels as well. One thing is for sure, if you are a sports fan and you get the Sports Pack offered from DirecTV, you will wonder how you were ever able to be a true sports fan without it!

If you are unfamiliar with the TiVo and Digital Video Recorder systems, take a closer look, it is a pretty amazing combination. Actually, many television viewers who already have the TiVo and DVR systems agree that TiVo and DVR have changed the way television is viewed drastically for the better. Basically, when you get a Digital Video Recorder and TiVo unit, for free I might add, from DirecTV, you will not only be able to record your favorite shows directly to the DVR unit without worrying about a cumbersome VHS tape, you will also be able to go back through the programs that aired hours before and record them as well. Actually, with both units you will be able to record hours and hours of your favorite programs as well as the ability to actually pause and rewind LIVE TV!

It is really a huge breakthrough in the way television can be watched in general. If you remember the old Video Cassette Recorders (vs. the new Digital Video Recorder) you always had to deal with annoying problems and hassles just to take care of the simplest of tasks. Some of these problems involved use (or misuse) of the recording timer or the speed settings. Usually, the smallest error on the viewers part, or just a faulty machine (I think we all have had one) you will miss either the last half of your show or the entire show! Well now with the TiVo and DVR units offered free from DirecTV (when you sign up for a monthly service) even if you miss your favorite program altogether, you can actually rewind and record hours later! Pretty amazing wouldn’t you say?
