What is the best Master’s program for higher education?

Saturday, July 31st, 2010

I’m entering my senior year and I want to go into higher education. I like Student Affairs but I don’t want to limit myself to that one area.

I’m looking for a degree that I can use in multiple areas so that if I don’t like one area, I can do well in another.

Does anyone have any program suggestions?

What is the Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2009?

Saturday, July 31st, 2010

Could we please discuss, in layman’s terms, the pros and cons of the 2009 Higher Education Opportunity Act?

I’m going to read an article to a group of high school students that mentions the Act. I have a feeling some students might be interested in the Act because they could use it to their advantage.

However, I want to explain it simply and quickly (we have a lot to cover). Could someone please tell me what the Act boils down to?

How can we increase the number of graduates in both high school and higher education?

Saturday, July 31st, 2010

I have seen too many questions lately that are completely pointless (eg. “Where should I shop?”, “Who is the ‘hottest’ singer?”, etc), and so I decided that it was time that someone besides government officials (great question by Senator Clinton, by the way) posted about something that actually matters. Please do not post something like, “We can stop people from dropping out.” While, yes, that would help high school graduation, you would have to actually be able to stop them from dropping out. Also, it is unlikely that this would affect higher education very much. Along the same line, do not post something that is obviously pointless, or an answer that is identical to another, or I will report it (agreeing with someone in a brief statement, along with your own answer is fine, but so saying the same thing as others). Also, if you wish to cite sources, find reliable ones (meaning not something such as Wikipedia, which can be changed by anyone). Thank you in advance.
Ok, one more thing: do not post things that are not reasonable, or vulgar (paying students, having students “bang” teachers), or I will report them. I am reporting those that are already vulgar (I do not care that you asked me not to. That is not appropriate.).
